Global Magnet

What is the theme of this magnet school? Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet fosters a love of learning, celebrates diversity, and promotes engagement in rigorous, inquiry-based academics. Our goal is to prepare students for the everchanging, globally-competitive world. Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet is a Candidate School* for the Primary Years Programme (PYP). We are pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Seven Oaks Elementary Global Magnet believes is important for our students. *Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted. For further information about the IB and its programmes, visit www.ibo.org.

What makes this magnet unique? Seven Oaks' student and faculty body represents over 25 nationalities. The shift towards learning American curriculum through a global lens empowers students to evolve into members of society who demonstrate the IB Learner Profile. The IB Learner Profile represents 10 attributes (Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, Reflective) valued by IB World Schools. The IB believes these attributes, and others like them, can help individuals and groups become responsible members of local, national and global communities. Through inquiry units, students are able to achieve academically while maintaining agency in their learning and assessment.
